When a family member or friend dies, there is sadness and people can understand that you are grieving.
When you go through life feeling alone, misunderstood, not acknowledged, you can feel grief that is not recognized.
Being unseen or not understood does not feel good. It is as though people only see the outside of you, the groomed you; not the part of you that is hidden.
Sometimes feeling this aloneness makes you feel as though you are invisible or a fraud. Sometimes you might feel as though if people really knew you, you would be exposed as a phoney or unlikable.
You are not alone in these feelings! There are many people that walk around looking like they are ok that are crying on the inside.
I say to you, please get support, learn who you really are and start to live your life as it is meant to be. Take baby steps to reach your goals, so you do not get overwhelmed.
Show up in your own life and if you don’t know what that means, find someone, a friend, a family member, someone you trust. Also don’t forget you, You are an important piece of this equation.
Whatever it takes to get going, one step at a time, please try to find the things that make you feel satisfied, content, happy, fulfilled and seen.
Take that cooking, art, music, or yoga class that you have wanted to try. Don’t be afraid to try new things. If you like it great, if you don’t, check it off of your to do list.
Remember that there are people out there rooting for you.
