When a family member or a friend dies, there is sadness and people can understand that you are grieving.
When you go through life feeling alone, misunderstood and not acknowledged as the person you are, you can feel grief that is not recognized.
Being unseen or not understood does not feel good. It is as though people only see the outside of you, the groomed you, not the part of you that is hidden.
Sometimes feeling this aloneness makes you feel as though you are invisible or a fraud. Sometimes you might feel as though if people really knew you, you would be exposed as a phony or maybe feel that you may be unlikeable.
You are not alone in having these feelings. There are many people that walk around looking like they are ok that are really crying on the inside, feeling small and isolated.
I say to you please get support, learn who you really are and start to live your life as it is meant to be. Take baby steps to reach your goals, so that you do not get overwhelmed.
Whatever it takes to get going, one step at a time, please try to find the things that make you feel satisfied, content, happy, fulfilled and seen.
Take that cooking, art, music, or yoga class that you have wanted to try. Don’t be afraid to try new things. If you like it, great, if you don’t, check it off of your to do list.
Remember, the only way to reach the top of the mountain top is to take one step at a time.
There are people out there rooting for you.
