When we are children, many of us, not all, are wired
to please our parents.
If they are wise, they help their children to figure out
who they are and where their talents lie.
If they are immature, and want their children to mirror
their achievements, then those children do not have an
opportunity while growing up to figure out who they are.
As adults, some may realize that they really don’t know
who they are and what they are meant to do with their
lives, so they go on that journey of exploration.
Being authentic is not just a cute phrase, it is the difference
between living a life that feels meaningful for the individual,
it is the difference between being content or being discontent,
and using outside sources to fill up the inside hole.
It usually does not work for long.
I wish you well on your journey, it is well worth it.
